Precipice of Truth

Abyss puzzle on the Path of Providence

The Precipice of Truth is an Abyss puzzle encountered along the Path of Providence. It involves collecting Power Cores from floating orbs, placing them as batteries to activate wind fans, and using those fans to traverse between floating platforms. This is one of the more mechanically complex Abyss puzzles, combining combat, parkour, and environmental puzzle-solving. Completing it rewards the powerful Diving Force Palm skill. CRITICAL BUG WARNING: There is a known bug where falling off the island, reloading a save, or leaving mid-puzzle can cause Power Cores to disappear permanently, making the puzzle impossible to complete without reverting to an earlier save. Always save manually before starting.

Location

The Abyss — accessible after completing Root's End (Abyss island)

Prerequisites

1. Complete the Root's End puzzle in the Abyss. 2. High stamina recommended for reaching the area. 3. Axiom Force ability required for the puzzle. 4. Kuku Pot (optional but highly recommended for storing Power Cores).

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Activate the Checkpoint

Upon arrival, find and activate the Abyss Nexus checkpoint by standing on it. This is crucial — if you fall off later, you can warp back here instead of repeating the approach. Do this before touching anything else.

2

Destroy the First Orb

Find the stone structure with a floating orb inside. The orb fires explosive projectiles. Use Axiom Force (hold L3) to grab and destroy it instantly. It drops a glowing Power Core cube. Pick it up with Axiom Force.

3

Seal the Power Core (Optional)

If you have a Kuku Pot, seal the Power Core by grabbing it with Axiom Force and pressing Triangle (PS5) or Y (Xbox). This stores it safely in your inventory so you don't have to drag it manually across platforms.

4

Place First Battery

Take the Power Core to the fan mechanism's battery slot. Without a Kuku Pot, you'll need to do some parkour between platforms while carrying it. Place it in the slot to activate the wind fan.

5

Cross to the Other Side

Use the activated wind fan to fly across to the other side of the puzzle area.

6

Place Second Battery

On the other side, find the second mechanism. Extract the second battery using the cube mechanism, move it to the higher platform, and place it in its slot.

7

Activate the Central Cog

A second wind generator activates. Ride the current to the central gear mechanism. Use Force Palm while climbing to slam it in. Be ready — Force Palm while climbing sends you flying back, so prepare to glide and grab back on.

Rewards

Abyss Artifact

One Abyss Artifact for completing the puzzle. Grants one Skill Point for the Skill Tree to unlock or rank up abilities, or invest into core stats (Health, Spirit, or Stamina).

Diving Force Palm

A powerful combat skill that lets you slam down from the air, dealing heavy damage. Also useful for some later puzzles and traversal.

Skybridge Access

A skybridge opens at the end, leading to the next Abyss area.

Tips

  • CRITICAL: Save your game manually before starting this puzzle. A known bug can make Power Cores disappear if you fall off or reload.
  • Activate the Abyss Nexus checkpoint first — it's your safety net if you fall.
  • The Kuku Pot makes this puzzle much easier by letting you store Power Cores in your inventory instead of carrying them.
  • Bring stamina-restoring food for the platforming sections.
  • When using Force Palm on the central cog while climbing, immediately prepare to open your Wings to glide and grab back on.
  • If you lack stamina upgrades, bring consumables that replenish stamina for the approach flight.
