Crimson Desert Cross-Save Guide
Transfer your save between PS5, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store
Cross-save is LIVE. It was added in update 1.14.00, released on July 16, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store simultaneously. Mac (App Store) support is coming in a future update.
Cross-save (cross-progression) lets you share one save file across platforms and continue your journey in Pywel on a different device. It works by linking each of your platform accounts to a single Pearl Abyss ID, which gives you one shared cross-save slot. At launch Crimson Desert had no cross-save at all — Pearl Abyss announced it in the June 2026 Dev Update and shipped it about four months after release. Note this is progression transfer only: you still need to own the game on each platform you play on.

How to Enable Cross-Save (Step by Step)
Open the Save Game menu
In game, go to Main Menu → Others → Save. The cross-save controls live in the Save Game menu.
Open Cross-Save Settings
Select the Cross-Save Settings button in the bottom-right corner of the Save Game menu.
Open the Pearl Abyss cross-save page
Follow the link shown on screen or scan the QR code to open the Pearl Abyss Cross-Save page (account.pearlabyss.com) on any device.
Link your accounts to a Pearl Abyss ID
Sign in with (or create) a Pearl Abyss ID, then link each platform account you play on. Each platform can be linked to one account only.
Refresh in game
Back in the game, press Refresh. A dedicated Cross-Save slot will appear in the bottom-right of the Save menu.
Upload your save manually
Select the cross-save slot and upload your save. The slot does NOT auto-save — always upload manually before switching platforms, then load from that slot on the other device.
Limitations & Warnings
- One shared cross-save slot per Pearl Abyss ID — all linked platforms use the same single slot.
- The cross-save slot is manual only. It never auto-uploads; forgetting to upload before switching platforms means your latest progress stays on the old device.
- Cross-progression only, no cross-buy — you must own Crimson Desert separately on each platform.
- Paid items and Deluxe cosmetics do not transfer. Content bought on one platform is disabled on another unless you buy it there too.
- Unlinking all platform accounts (even the last one) or deleting your Pearl Abyss ID deletes the cross-save slot and its save data.
- The feature is unavailable in regions where Pearl Abyss ID is not supported.
- What does transfer: character progression, story progress, and inventory.
About Cross-Save in Crimson Desert
Cross-save was the most requested feature missing at Crimson Desert's launch — the official FAQ originally confirmed there was none. Pearl Abyss announced it in the June 2026 Dev Update and shipped it in update 1.14.00 on July 16, 2026. The system uses a Pearl Abyss ID with one shared, manually-uploaded cross-save slot covering PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store. It transfers character progression, story progress, and inventory, but not paid cosmetics, and there is no cross-buy. Mac support is planned for a future update.
Cross-Save FAQ
- When did Crimson Desert get cross-save?
- Cross-save arrived in update 1.14.00 on July 16, 2026, about four months after launch. It rolled out to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store at the same time.
- Does cross-save work on Mac?
- Not yet. Pearl Abyss has confirmed Mac (App Store) cross-save support "will be added in a future update" but has not given a date.
- Do I need to buy the game again on another platform?
- Yes. Crimson Desert cross-save is progression-only — there is no cross-buy. You need to own the game on every platform you play on, and paid cosmetics must also be re-purchased per platform.
- Will I lose my save if I unlink my account?
- Unlinking all linked accounts or deleting your Pearl Abyss ID deletes the cross-save slot and the save stored in it. Your local platform saves are unaffected, so keep a recent local save before unlinking.
- Why is my cross-save not up to date on the new platform?
- The cross-save slot only updates when you manually upload to it. If your progress is missing, go back to the platform you last played on, upload the latest save to the cross-save slot, then load it on the new platform.
