An honest starter shield: 4 defense, no bonuses, available at the Hernand Equipment Shop from the beginning. Its own description admits it is 'quickly outclassed', and the data agrees — the Balgran Shield beats it in every column. Its value is entirely about timing: it is the cheapest way to have a functional shield during the opening chapters. Upgrade the moment the Sydmon Kite Shield's mobility or the Balgran's stats become reachable.
