Matthias is a mighty warrior who has been seeking to test his combat skills with a Greymane. He steps in and dares to duel Kliff in the town square of Hernand. A knight with two health bars — the easiest boss in the game. His attacks don't deal much damage, he only does basic sword attacks and kicks which are quite slow.
Early game encounter that serves as a tutorial for the boss fighting system.
Field Notes
The Prologue's tutorial duel, fought fist-to-fist in the City of Hernan, and the game teaching you its most important lesson: patience wins. All three tips point the same way — let him swing first, keep your guard up, and answer with his own Pump Kick, which you learn from this very fight. Treat it as parry practice; the timing you build here is the same one every later boss demands. Losing costs little, but winning cleanly sets up habits the Chapter 7 fights will test for real.
